IBWAA SELECTS PRICE, DICKEY IN CY YOUNG VOTE

 

Los Angeles – The Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA) announced its 2012 Cy Young Awards Saturday, electing Tampa Bay Rays David Price in the American League, and R.A. Dickey, of the New York Mets, in the National League.

 

Election results are as follows:

 

AL Cy

 

1^st Place:                     David Price, Tampa Bay Rays

2^nd Place:                    Justin Verlander, Detroit Tigers

3^rd Place:                     Jered Weaver, Los Angeles of Anaheim

4^th Place:                     Felix Hernandez, Seattle Mariners

5^th Place:                     Chris Sale, Chicago White Sox

 

NL Cy

 

1^st Place:                     R.A. Dickey, New York Mets

2^nd Place:                    Gio Gonzalez, Washington Nationals

3^rd Place:                     Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers

4^th Place:                     Johnny Cueto, Cincinnati Reds

5^th Place:                     Matt Cain, San Francisco Giants

 

2012 IBWAA MVP awards will be announced Monday, November 5, 2012.

 

The IBWAA was established July 4, 2009 by Howard Cole, editor of BaseballSavvy.com, to organize and promote the growing online baseball media, and to serve as a digital alternative to the BBWAA.
